Hi Rachel,

I loved every minute of Vlogmas 2017. May I ask where your woven bag was from?

Admin Reply by: Rachel
It's from! But it's sold out... the Claudine would be my second.

Rachel do you have any tips on how to find yourself again after a breakup? I went through a breakup a few months ago, I was in this relationship for a lot of years and I feel so lost right now. I feel demotivated and my self esteem has been slowly decreasing every day. I guess that’s a part of rejection. I’ve been watching your videos since day 1 and I truly admire you, as a YouTuber but mostly as a person. Sending you love

aw so sorry to hear! well, i'm no expert in this stuff so take anything i say with a grain of salt and apply only what resonates with you.

1. let yourself feel everything you want to feel and know it will pass
2. you probably lost yourself for a while in this relationship, and remember that relationships should not be two-half people coming in to make a whole... rather, it should be two whole people coming together to enhance each other. find the half you've been missing and try to be a whole human. you will never need someone to complete you
3. reach out to friends, family, coworkers, yoga mat neighbor, and get your mind off it. remember what it's like to have a healthy companionship

hope that helps and hope you find a light at the end of your tunnel xx

Hey Rachel,

What would be your tips on those wanting to start a blog this year?

Ps1. You’re totes my spirit animal ✨
Ps2. Diggin you’re new webspace 🧡
Admin Reply by: Rachel
i say find a backbone of what you people to associate you with: food, culture, fashion, mood, etc., and write it all down. then sort of branch off that and start creating visuals around it. you'll start to see your on-screen-self form and that is a good jumping off point for the stories and visuals you want to share!

Hi Rachel! I was wondering if you could do a video on your clothing collection bc I absolutely adore your clothes and style. Also, where do you get a lot of your silk/satin tops and stuff like that bc I love the stuff you have! xoxo
Admin Reply by: Rachel
i'll look into it this year! thrift stores for silks - so much cheaper

Hey Rachel,

What affiliate links have you had good experiences with and what would be your advice regarding the business side of fashion on YouTube? Wanting to get started and nearly paralyzed with indecision.
Admin Reply by: Rachel
amazon and rewardstyle! honestly, don't let all these litttle business things get in the way of expressing yourself. worry about what your message is before you start implementing all this structure that becomes really distracting from your authentic voice.

Hey Rachel,

First off the new website looks great.
I’m a stylist and I am looking to advance my skills with adobe photoshop and illustrator, do you have some helpful tips?

Please help a sister out! Lol

Admin Reply by: Rachel
thanks stef! i kinda learned by exploring it and learning all the tools. youtube can teach you anything now! i'm sure you can find something that explains all the tools, that should get your mind going with the possibilities you can create, and from there, any technical questions you encounter, 99.2% of the time you can find a solution online.

For the Gemini necklace, is it 18" or 21"? I like how you wrap once and let it fall on your neck!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
i have two necklaces on, so it's the 18"

how do you get yourself to work when youre completely demotivated?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
get down to the core, list how reasons you're feeling demotivated and tackle each of those minute problems

been watching your videos for a while and love the revamping of the website!
i'm currently still in uni but i've jumped around a lot. i used to study photography and did a bit of psychology but now i'll be finishing a degree in anthropology in 2018. A big part of me still wants to be in that creative industry but i don't know how that balance between intellectually stimulating and artistically expressed. do you have any advice for people who are floating about?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
hiii thank you! jumping around is totally okay. what if you found some way to combine the two? i'm sure there's some strange mix you can have a niche in that satisfies both... isn't that how the best styles are made? eg: alexander wang with sport luxe (was so not a thing 10 years ago!), or daisydaisy with country goth? the strangest collabs make the best stories!

Do you still feel like a light kid at heart or pressured into changing your attitude to "fit your age"?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
sometimes i feel like a little kid and other times i feel like i'm way older than i am. the youtube / influencer industry has an affinity for youth... it's definitely a fine balance to act your age and somehow be relevant? i really don't want to overthink it at all... so gonna just not spiral... right.. now..

I dont know if this is a blister or a "raw" patch of skin. But I'm in soooo much pain on my heel. And I have an event and am supposed to be wearing these Marc Jacobs heels (killer) to the event because of MY sponsorship.

Any tips on how to get through the night (without the answer being just get hammered).

Admin Reply by: Rachel
ouwwwwwwwwwwww hm, maybe i'd try to expand and stretch out the parts of the shoes that hurt you before wearing it (look up freezing a bag of water in your shoe), carry thick jelly bandaids, and lastly, DON'T TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES. they'll only hurt more putting it back on. getting hammered def helps too hehe

hi raych! I've been trying to grow my channel for about 2 years now, and trying to get more exposure in the youtube and instagram realm do you have any tips ? you're the best! xo
Admin Reply by: Rachel
ah this question is always so hard to answer because I wish there was some secret formula i can share. i think i got really lucky starting my blog and maintaining an image online to which is how I've kinda built everything. but i also started YT cause i didn't see anyone making anything i wanted to watch... i truly think having your own uniqueness that isn't formulated and throws people off is the best trick to do. but again, i have no idea if that's luck or totally true

i try to think of my camera as the audience i'm talking to - like i'm facetiming a friend

dear rachel, have been watching your videos since the last year's vlogmas and you are my favorite! can't describe how connected i felt when i first watched your videos. there is a realness and something fresh about you and your content that was missing in the media. just wanted to let you know that i completely admire what you create, how you translate it to every platform and how it feels so you (genuine). i am a fashion designer and i am applying to get a place in a course really really important to me. I got to speak with the director of the course and he took a look at my portfolio and we had a conversation. he really liked my work but he said that he couldn't understand my style. so till i meet him again in the interview i have to figure it out. kind of all the questions he made got me really confused about myself. ended up having a style identity crise. do you have any advice on how to define a style? how you found your style and how you define it? i like really random stuff so i didn't know how to explain it to him. (like céline, kiko mizuhara, ballet, a bit of glittler ...)
Admin Reply by: Rachel
aw thank you for the sweet words yasmin x

to make you feel better, i have an identity crisis all the time. what really helps me is really focusing - i'll make visual boards of things i like and see how it all fits, then i put together all my stuff/photos/things in my life and see how it matches and start curating from there. your style is yours, it's a matter of making it make sense to someone who isn't in your head. try looking up some podcasts (i don't know any off the top of my head) about branding!
