hi raych! I know that you have said you have been consulting for glossier, and in the past you've mentioned doing similar work for other brands. i am thinking of creating my own consulting business and was wondering if you have any advice, including on how to pitch your business? thanks so much!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Honestly I don't have the answers to everything, I kinda am an opportunist and I see room for improvement and I know how to make it happen. I think companies value my point of view and expertise and thats how I get hired for what I do. a lot of it comes from doing a ton of research and having a really keen finger on the pulse of everything thats happening!

Thank you! Well, if you follow me on IG, you might have seen in my story that I was consulting for Glossier for a month. I haven't had the bandwidth to edit videos. I finished my contract though and should hopefully be getting on track soon! x

Hi Rachel, I'm in high school and I've been watching your videos for about a year now,and I'm obsessed with you as a creator and the quality of your videos, you are one of the few people that inspire me, but my questions are...what do you do to get your creative juices flowing? How do you come up with new content? and Lastly, what are some tips for someone that wants to start a blog?

Thank you 🙂
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Its important to gain inspiration from everything you do, and the process of creating comes from trial and error. just start making things that you love and collaborate with your friends, and ask for peer review! xx

Hi! I’m looking for comfy slides to wear to yoga, do you have any recommendations?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I would never wear slides in public so I don't care how cheap or ugly they are..I would probably get 5 dollar slides form target or something

Hey Rachel,
I love your blog and your videos. You have kinda motivated me to start blogging and making videos. Any tips on getting started?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
yay ❤️❤️❤️so happy to hear! I think video making is a really big bite to take and can be really intimidating. I always suggest to just do it- you're probably not gunna post your first video because you not going to love it. but it'll give you perspective on how to film and edit your videos, you almost need and initial trial run!

Do you ever feel bombarded with content from others? I don't know where I am creatively at the moment, and social media is draining me while I endlessly scroll looking for "inspiration"... How do you translate your mind into something visual?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
sometimes when I see too much, I just disconnect and go outside or do something off of a screen and it allows my mind to wander on its own without any crutches

I always try to find the small boutique hotels that cater towards creatives, and they usually have good rates. Like the Ace Hotel! x

Have you had any bad experiences while driving recently?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
ummm always, I have such terrible road rage. the last bad experience I had was that some guy was trying to cut me off. I didn't realize my windows were down and I was screaming lil bitch....and then he rolled up next to me and said you better watch your mouth because you a lil bitch 😶

I would like to travel to California but i'm unsure of which city to start out with.. what do you recommend? Do you think its best to visit LA first or somewhere else?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
It depends on how much time you have! I think starting in San Francisco and driving down to LA is a beautiful experience and stopping in Carmel on the way- its a gorgeous drive, about 6 hours. plus Northern California and Southern California are two very very very different places

just do something you love whether or not you make money or see a future with it! I had no idea 10 years ago that I would be doing Youtube full time, nor did I aspire for it. We live in an ever-changing environment with social media and stuff, its really hard to put definitive answers on anything. You just have to be in tune with how the world is changing and find a place for yourself in it! x

Hello Rachel!
I've been following you for a while now and I'm such a fan of your work and your creativity. You seem so true to yourself, and I really love that! I remember that the first video I saw on your YouTube channel was the WHAT TO WEAR THIS WINTER Lookbook and I have to say it still one of my fav videos you ever did. I love the way you filmed it, edited it (the music is on point) and not to mention your sense of style and hair (damn, you rocked that hair color). I would love to see more videos like that on your channel!
Thanks for your positivity, creativity and energy Rachel, and keep up the good work!! xx
Admin Reply by: Rachel
thank you! I really love that video too, for a while I didn't have someone to film my videos - I do everything myself. Its hard to pay out of pocket for a video that is not sponsored, to be totally transparent.

Butttt I will try to work on it! I have a new assistant who is also typing out this response. hiii I'm Brigitte hii 🙂

Hi Rachel! I was wondering you knew of any "safe" perfumes. I've been really getting into perfumes lately, but the insane amount of chemicals in perfumes worry me. I know you're into fragrances, and was hoping you could recommend me some non-toxic perfumes! Thank you so much!

Hey Rachel,

Firstly I think you're the bomb!! That's such a cliche phrase and so uncool but I think you're so amazingly positive and inspirational. I'm really out of a creative degree in UK and i'm hustling my little lift away. Could you reply, or even better make a lush youtube video, about hustling please. Just how you go about it, how you feel about it, your process for making opportunities happen that don't even exist before you say they're there. I'm trying to do exactly that at the moment and would love to know your view point

I hope you're having a great January and 2018 so far. I wish you all the happiness and joy in the world, and so much love. I'm sorry for being so fan gurl, but I think it's amazing that because of the internet I can be inspired and enthused by someone like yourself towards my own life.

Stay golden <3

I really love how you said that, it definitely is a very interesting video to make. I've been wanting to do a video of those sorts for a while but trying to do it without being so wordy.....wordyy..

But to answer your question, I think I'm really good at seeing problems and coming up with solutions before anyone else does. And in that sense, I use that skill to hustle with opportunities that people haven't seen yet. I guess I'm like an opportunist by nature in some way!

Hi Rachel,

I was reading through some of your questions and saw that you mentioned you were in, "asset management in housing-development." How did you make the switch to being a denim designer and content creator, even though you did your bachelor's in Economics?

Thanks and absolutely love your videos! xx

I got hired at that job because I worked at Starbucks and the girl really liked me and hired me to work at her office. I just did it to get through school. I think because I share such a vision that is very particular online, is how I got hired to do my job at Paige. They scouted me!
