I really want to start investing in quality designer clothing & was wondering what are some of your favourite brands (go to designer labels) as well as your staple/investment pieces in your closet? Thanks πŸ™‚
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I don't really have specific ones I'm married to, a few brands I always look for on TRR are the classics like Balenciaga, Chanel, Prada, Dries van Noten, Moschino. Love a great top and dress. Sorry that's so vague.

Loooong time fan here--thank you for doing what you do! I just got engaged and am excited for a winter wedding! I love your style and you always seem to know cool brands. Other than ref, do you know of any cool wedding stores? what type of/brand of wedding dress would you wear if you were getting married? xoxo
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Hahah, I honestly haven't really thought about my wedding dress. I personally would probably go with something vintage and repurpose/refit to give it a second life. Makes me sad that such beautiful dresses are made only to see the light of day once. Have an amazzzzzzing wedding and time shopping for it!! πŸ‘°πŸ»πŸ€΅πŸ»

Oh also, sometimes Yoox has some amazing finds.

Hey, megababe Raych! What do you do when you get burned out? Also how do you cleanse your way out of career/personal rut?

PS. I love you so much YOU are the ultimate influencer of my life and you're all kinds of amazing. xo
sending love from Manila, PH
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Usually when I get burned out, I take a step back and try to figure why I'm burned out to begin with... usually I'm tired of looking at the same thing, listening to myself when I edit, etc... and I truly just disconnect and live life until my mind is clear again and I can find what's new to inspire me.

Ps, thank you for the kindest words so much thank you

Hello Rachel! You have really inspired me to be more myself and give time to my creative side. This might sound weird but watching your videos gives me a feeling of summer, this happy light and free feeling! Now to my question: I live in Sweden and in the beginning of june I am traveling to SF and LA! Do you have any travel tips (not so typical tourist tips hehe) in LA?? Whats you favourit stores? Thank you! Hugs from Sweden! <3
Admin Reply by: Rachel
That's so sweet of you Sofia! Thank you πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I really need to make an LA guide one of these days, but any time I travel anywhere, I always try to connect with someone through a friend or even through IG because the eye of a local is incomparable to what you discover on your own. Shops, I love perusing Melrose Place and a few vintage shops on Melrose like Wasteland. Hope that helps and enjoy your time here! xx

Hey Rachel, what are some of your favorite jewelry brands ? I love your channel so much! I’ve been watching you for quite a while now which kinda leads me to the next question... do you miss your platinum blonde hair?
Xx, Dina
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I don't really have favorite brands, I buy a lot of vintage or from the gold wholesale market. But I do love Young Frankk - my favorite gold hoops! And, the hair was a great time in my life, but I don't really miss it. It ended up being too hard to maintain and more people seem to be rocking that hair now which naturally turns me off from it.

Hey gal! I’ve been a long time lover of your content across your platforms and always am inspired to step outside of the box with my own YouTube channel when ever I watch your videos (I recently incorporated a clothes line into one of my videos after being inspired by your English thrift video, so huge thanks for that). I’d love to know what your first job was when you moved to LA and how did you land it? How long were you there before you went full time on your own?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
That's so inspiring to hear. Your content looks beautiful - I can't wait to watch the video. My first job was at Paige as a menswear designer and I got it through my friend who was the creative director for the men's department. We met through my blog actually, so putting your work out in the world can definitely open you up to different opportunities! But I was there, then I moved to ShoeDazzle as a content producer (also got this position because they were a fan of my blog), then I started the YT channel and left to do it full time πŸ™‚ That was about 3 years all together!

I always feel as though there was some "purpose" in life that I need to fulfill. Otherwise, what is the point of life if it is always a struggle and I am always hustling to achieve my goals. How do you find a sense of calm or even feel content with your life currently? You always appear so determined in your videos and appear to truly enjoy your life. What is your best advice for someone feeling lost and uninspired with what they currently have?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Love your ambition!! To answer your question, I think I find solace in knowing I'm doing the best I can with what I have. Even 'thriving' creatives you see online have so many goals they're constantly chasing and it's a matter of finding solutions to battle these ideas into execution. The best advice for someone who is finding their tracking again is to be okay with being lost and let that transport you to where you need to me. I fully believe that manifestation and the universe guides you to where you want to be in life if you are putting in the energy and work to see your goals ✨⚑✨

What photo/ video editors do you use? What’s your favorite filter?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I actually shoot a lot of film, so I don't use any additional filters. As for my videos, I use FCPX πŸ¦‹

Hi Rachel,

I have moved to a new city for two years, I have been struggling with making new friends . How did you make so many friends after you moved to LA?

Admin Reply by: Rachel
Hi Nanxi ~ I met my core group of friends at work and I think we were just at a point where we were all starting out so we really bonded. I've also had lots of connections and acquaintances that turned into friendships from the internetz. IG is a great way to meet like-minded people imo! x 🌹

Do you still wear that amazing Gary Baseman x Coach jacket? I just managed to scope one out on ebay after falling in love with yours seeing it in your videos!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I do from time to time πŸ™‚ it's still very precious to me so I don't wear it that often but I won't ever get rid of it. Congrats on the purchase! I hope it was an amazing deal.

How do you stay so "relevant" while keeping your uniqueness and creativity? I find that a lot of big-name influencers are actually all the same. They each have their own personal touch on the same product. You're different, in the best way possible! I don't know exactly what I'm trying to ask, but hopefully you understand!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Look away from a formula and what others are doing and follow the instinct that you're attracted to. It's hard though, I often need to disconnect because we can be 'too' inspired by the our apps. I need time away to process what I like and don't like in my daily living as I purge and think πŸ•ŠοΈ

Hi Rachel, I am looking for a cute flirty dress for my graduation from grad school any suggestions? I've looked at reformation and realization already!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I'm gonna say it again, The Real Real lol. You just need to dig and it makes it easier to navigate when you finesse the filters to what you want and your size, etc.

Hey Rachel, have you found that coding knowledge has been important in what you do?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Yes, but I like to learn a little bit of everything so I can at least navigate conversations. It helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my site and how to communicate what I wanted with my developer! x

How do you deal with haters or people who assumed you're someone you are certainly not?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
That they're not worth my time if they're the type of people to jump to conclusions and would rather fill in what they don't know with negative thoughts. Don't need to waste energy on them folks. I hope they find peace in their life tho ✌🏻

Hey Rachel! I am planning a trip to Vietnam, Do you have any suggestions? There will be 4 of us on the trip. Hope you are thriving!
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Always thriving. It's springgggg. Do lots of research, and Google is your friend. Sorry, not helpful haha I kinda winged the trip on my own. Also, be prepared to rent a bike and have someone who can ride one on the trip. It made my trip so much more fun having Wes navigate us.

Don't look at Coachella inspo, just wear something comfy and accessorize with the right jewels, scarf, hair stuff. It'll always make a difference! Also, LOVE Alex Turner so much.

Hi Rachel! Just want to say I love you work so much. When I watch your videos, it's like you've created a world of your own. Just wanted to ask how did you find your passion and how did you decide on it? Was there a specific career you wanted to achieve? I know this is a broad/difficult question, I'm just at the stage of figuring out my life. Also, what advice would you give your 21 year old self?!
BTW you do not look Viet at all hahaha (I initially thought you were half white)
Admin Reply by: Rachel
Hahaha I am very much in my own world at times. I think I see so much (online and being pitched to all the time) that I very easily get tired of things and naturally like new things that not as many people like. I'm just passionate about creating .... i think it translate to everything else. Sorry if that was a broad answer, it's far too much to really type out into something tangible!

How do you meet people who share the same aesthetic and creative visions as you do? I don't know anyone in the creative circle. I really wish I can meet more people who share similar styles and creative visions with me so we can work on projects together, etc. It is hard to do everything alone.
Admin Reply by: Rachel
IDK, I've met a lot of people through IG and blogging, but I've also been doing this for so long that it's hard to have that fresh perspective on what it was like before. Honestly, going to events helps a lot. But I agree, find friends with the same vibe on IG! Follow each other, meet up, talk about things. Everyone is craving openness the same as you are but everyone is too afraid to be the first one to do it - be the first one to approach.

My partner and I's lease is up really soon and we are so torn. Our current place is way over priced and way too small for two people and two cats.
We are planning on moving out of our current city in about a year but right now we can't decide if we should pay a little extra for a nicer apartment or just move into an okay place and save up?

What would you do?
Admin Reply by: Rachel
I can't say I would have the smarter decision for this, I'd move somewhere nicer (but I also work from home and it's v important to me to splurge on something that feels comfortable for me and to work from). I also find that it'll inspire and push me more to work harder to deserve what I decided to splurge on.
