I know no other tricks than the ones you probably know already and that's brushing every day and flossing heh

go through your whole closet and clean out everything you don't relate to anymore (expect to get rid of a lot of items), then slowly and smartly build from there

Hi Rachel! Thank you for continuing to create and inspire - everything you put out comes across as extremely authentic and original. I really respect that about you! You truly stand out amongst the whirlwind of information and content on the internet. Anyways, I'm interested in your work with Adobe and how you got started with creating content within that realm (such as your new blog content!! graphics/design/interactive art...). Was this something you studied in school (what did you study?) or did you learn it on your own time? Do you have any recs for someone interested in this? Thanks xx

Aw thank you Katie! I've had a blog for 10+ years now and I guess I've always had a liking to the internet. there was this site called neopets that I learned to code on and make graphics, idk, never studied it, just have a curiosity to learn how to do things and did it.

thank you! there was no direct inspiration that I was trying to emulate other than this is how I organize my thoughts and wanted to translate that through visuals. alan and I worked together to make this and many iterations of it!

Totally hahha, I think it's natural to have the curiosity to check in on someone. But I think it all depends on what your relationship with the person was and I think if there's a lingering wonder of how healthy these habits are, then it's probably leaning towards one end of that question.

Admin Reply by: Rachel
i feel like if you're outgrowing your friends, it usually also comes with having new things that you're interested in. sometimes it helps to go to gatherings (like yoga class, or a fashion event, or whatever) that would have people with common interests and start introducing yourself! transitions will happen naturally whether your new / old friends are in your life.

Yes! You have to pack some home amenities, like a little travel candle, maybe some photos of loved ones. It always helps to sprawl out at the hotel or airbnb to feel like you're living. Traveling alone can feel like a blur but remember that it'll go by sooner than you know it, so try to admire the luxury you were given to travel 🙂 also, vietnam is SO beautiful, you will love it. Try to make friends with locals too x

Hi Rachel, I'm currently a senior at UCI and I've been meaning to send you an email for months. I deleted my old draft because I thought I was being too corny. But I just wanted to thank you and express how much I appreciate you. I go through ebbs and flows of feeling stir-crazy, and like my life is boring. Feeling like life has lost its exuberance sucks. But somehow every single time, I put on one of your videos, I feel so revitalized. It doesn't matter what kind of video. I am writing this after watching your Whole 30 diet video and I feel so much energy and love for everything. Thank you so much for lending me your coolness through the screen. I wish you much health and success in your future. <3

well in short, i started taking nutrafol and stopped being stressed/using dry shampoo. i think the dry shampoo was a big culprit. i also take flax seed oil and sometimes rub it in my scalp before shampooing

Hey Rachel! I tend to be really really bad at trying new things, especially with skincare. I need to get at least 3 recommendations from people I trust, plus I need to do a LOT of research before purchasing. That being said, I have had the same four step skincare process with the same products for around a year now, and I really want to start branching out and trying new products. How do you do so?

this is free except we pay for hosting - wordpress is way more dynamic if you know how to code (which I can't do this complexly)

thank you!! I'm pretty open about everything - I don't have much to hide nor do I embarrass easily, but where I have my boundaries are sharing the lives of the people around me. I respect the privacy of my surroundings and don't share what's not mine. It only gets 'tricky' then because my life can look so one-sided 😉

Aw thank you!!! So sweet and thank you for following along this whole time. The book store is definitely inspiring, if I had to name names, one book I love is Quentin de Briey's photography and always reference Juergen Teller as well. Hard to pinpoint specifics; everyone is good at different things and I take a little bit from everything I see rather than mimic certain looks/vibes from one person/thing.

thank you lil sis for all the kind wordzzzzz. man sometimes it's really hard to look that far, esp with how fast the world changes. (like who knew i'd be here 10 years ago??????), i tend to look at medium picture and play with immediate, tangible things. they eventually build into something formative.

Admin Reply by: Rachel
Lots of self-reflection. 2010's has been narcissism-inducing fuel. Maybe if we ask more questions, remain curious, stay humble through actions, realize we don't actually know it all, and also weigh the value in the things that motivate us, we could open room in our lives to appreciate each other more.
